Independent Electronic Art and Music Festival

This independent festival is organized by Microchipcha. The objective of the festival is to spread electronic art and music to the different sectors of Bogotá. Bogotrax consists in a series of open air presentations, nighttime events in bars, workshops, conferences, radio programs and presentations in universities. The entire event is free to the public and for the public. There is also an open call whereby new artists are selected to present their work during the event. During the third year of the festival, Intermundos participates for the first time by organizing for the festival a new educational programing based around electronic music and art and by inviting Juha Huskonen to participate by giving conferences and a workshop.

Basic Electronic Bricolage Workshop : Experiments in Communication

Communication experiments with electronic, luminous and sonorous objects
Temas específicos de electrónica: corriente, voltaje, resistencia, circuito integrado
En este corto pero divertido curso, los participantes aprendieron los principios básicos de electrónica, como voltaje, corriente y resistencias; jugaron con sensores como photocelds y micrófonos; aprendieron a integrarlos en circuitos de tiempo utilizando el común 555 IC y aprendieron como controlar voltajes altos para alterar electrodomésticos por medio de un relay . Los resultados del taller fueron expuestos la noche del 23 en los baños del Centro Cultural Pizo

In this short but fun workshops the particpants learned the basic principles of electronics; like voltage; current; resistance, they played with sensors like photocells and microphones; they learned to integrate circuits using common 555 IC and how to control high voltage to alternate electro domestic tools through the use of a relay.

The results where exhibited in the bathroom on the night of the Bogotrax party in Centro Cultural Piso 3.

Live editing workshop (video jockey)

Hosts: Juha Huskonen and Vanessa Gocksch
Introduction to the concept of live video editing, the software used, the hardware used, examples of video jockey collectives; video jockey and theater and technical information.
The students learned to use the software resolume; make simple animations with macromedia flash; capture; film ; edit video clips to be used with the live editing software. After three days of work shopping, the students presented their work during one of the Bogotrax nightly events.

Musical production workshop

Guests: Juan Carlos Pellegrino y Alfredo Vargas and several of the guests DJ’s from Europe.
The basics of musical production by utilizing several software including some open source software.

The principles of dj mixing with vinyl records 2 turntables and a mixer. The emfasis was on electronic dance music.
